Deep in thought, the young girl in the paintingLa Finlandaise, or the 'Finnish Woman' by Sonia Delaunay, gazes at the horizon beyond our view. Represented in an intimate moment, with a pensive air, inviting us into a different world, which is left to our imagination. Despite her youth, her features reveal a great sense of maturity which inspires our respect.
Sonia Delaunay, a French artist of Ukrainian heritage, explored all artistic mediums during her career, without any distinction. After taking an initial interest in interior decoration and fashion, the artist immersed herself inpainting. It's in this universe that she developed a bold and frank style using colour, which she used in an almost primitive manner, as shown in La Finlandaise.
Aquarelle's artisan florists wanted to pay homage to this colourful artwork with anarray of flowers in flamboyant shades, : cool green chrysanthemums mingled with lisianthus and carnations, in warm orangey pink tones. The textures are also eye-catching : the clearly defined chrysanthemums intermingle with soft carnations. The result ? An original and vivacious combination.
The bouquet, like the painting, takes us on a voyage into the world of colour and the introversion of La Finlandaise of Sonia Delaunay. Which world does she transport you to ?
