This olive tree is very resistant to dry conditions and requires very little maintenance.
This plant can therefore be kept in a pot for many years to decorate a terrace or a garden.
In a pot:
- Place your olive tree in a sunny spot, well protected from the wind.
- Water it moderately and wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again (around three days). Be careful never to leave any excess water in the bottom of the dish, as this will cause the leaves to drop.
- If the temperature falls below -5°C for any length of time, either bring your olive tree inside and place it in an unheated area with plenty of light or protect it with an anti-frost net.
In the ground:
- Choose a sunny spot, protected from the wind.
- Plant your olive tree in dry, well-drained soil.
- Please note that young trees with a trunk of less than 10 cm in diameter will not thrive in temperatures of -6°C to -10°C (-12°C à - 20°C for mature olive trees with thick bark). In severe frost, protect your olive tree with an anti-frost net.
